How We Verify Listings

What "Verified" Means

A listing marked as "Verified" means we have:

  • Checked at least 3 key aspects of the listing (website, pricing, location, dates, safety screening, integration support, etc.)
  • Verified information against at least one source (typically the provider's website or official documentation)
  • Confirmed the listing is current and accurate as of the "Last verified" date

Source Quality Requirements

Verified listings require:

  • ≥3 verification checks true
  • ≥1 source with URL
  • lastVerified date not null

We encourage sources to include:

  • Official retreat/program page
  • Pricing page or pricing information
  • Safety/contraindications page
  • Policies/cancellation page
  • Integration description page

Sources are tagged with what information they support (e.g., "pricing", "dates", "safety") to make verification transparent and auditable.

Verification checks include:

  • Website checked: Confirmed the provider's website is accessible and matches listing information
  • Location checked: Verified the retreat location (city, region, country)
  • Duration checked: Confirmed the retreat duration
  • Pricing checked: Verified price ranges are current
  • Dates checked: Confirmed upcoming dates are accurate
  • Safety screening checked: Verified screening requirements and safety protocols
  • Integration checked: Confirmed integration support details

What "Unverified" Means

A listing marked as "Unverified" means:

  • We have not yet completed independent verification of the listing details
  • The listing may be accurate, but we cannot confirm it against sources
  • Some information may be missing or incomplete

Unverified listings are still included in our directory, but we recommend:

  • Contacting the provider directly to confirm details
  • Verifying pricing, dates, and policies before making commitments
  • Asking about safety screening and contraindications

How Often We Re-Check

We aim to re-verify listings at least every 180 days. The "Last verified" date shows when we last checked the listing.

If a listing shows "Stale" or hasn't been verified in over 180 days, it means:

  • The information may be outdated
  • Pricing, dates, or policies may have changed
  • We recommend contacting the provider directly for current information

What Sources Are

Sources are the URLs we used to verify listing information. These typically include:

  • Provider websites
  • Official program pages
  • Public documentation
  • Verified contact information

If a listing has no sources listed, it means we haven't yet verified the information against external sources. This is indicated by a "Sources needed" warning.

Reporting Corrections

If you notice incorrect information in a listing, please report it:

Report a Correction

Please include the listing name, what information is incorrect, and any sources that confirm the correct information.

About "Not Provided" and Missing Data

We explicitly show "Not provided" or "Unknown" when information is missing rather than hiding it. This transparency helps you:

  • Know what information is available vs. missing
  • Make informed decisions about which listings to contact
  • Understand the completeness of each listing

If you see "Not provided" for safety information, pricing, or other critical details, we recommend contacting the provider directly to confirm before making any commitments.

What Verification Cannot Guarantee

Verification status is based on evidence from sources, but it cannot guarantee:

  • Safety for every individual: Verification does not mean a retreat is safe or appropriate for everyone. Medical conditions, medications, mental health status, and individual circumstances all affect suitability.
  • Effectiveness: Verification does not mean a retreat will be effective for your specific needs or goals.
  • Quality of experience: Verification does not guarantee a positive or beneficial experience.
  • Current accuracy: Information may change after verification. Always confirm current details with providers.
  • Provider conduct: Verification does not guarantee ethical conduct, appropriate facilitation, or quality of care.

Verification means we have confirmed information from sources, but it is not a substitute for your own research, consultation with healthcare providers, and careful evaluation of whether a retreat is appropriate for you.
